When you run a high profile company like Special Sauce, you can never be too protective over your assets. Today, I spent some time backing up all our data on the trusty old Special Sauce Main Frame. The 486 DX266 Packard Bell is a screamer. It’s got 4 megs of ram and a 200 MB hard drive. We can’t yet afford a tape drive for backup, so we just go straight to floppy.

After just 14 hours, I had backed up all 75 megs of data in a neat pile of only 45 Floppy disks. Heck yeah I zipped them so as to save space. Now, our data is safe FOREVER.

Oh, in case you wanted to know, I also backed up print shop (we use it to make banners around the office) and After Dark. You gotta have a screen saver people!

…and for your Mac fans, we got that covered at Special Sauce too
